The latest notification is that the Elementary and Secondary Education Department (ESED) failed to deliver textbooks to lakhs of students. This is because the Department of Finance does not release the number of funds requested by ESED. Due to which KP Textbook Board cannot print books.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board had demanded Rs. 9 billion for printing textbooks. However, the Finance Department released only Rs. 4 billion and asked ESED to finance the remaining amount through its own resources. According to details, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education clarified that it would not allow KPTB to finance printing from its own resources. The finance department will also have to provide the remaining amount.
Every year KPTB delivers and prints books in April. KPK students get books on result day along with summer vacation homework. However, that did not happen this year. It is the moral duty of KPK ESED to provide books so that students can start their educational career. For more details, keep visiting FSc Online website.
